Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Pink Dial Unique Piece is the result of the watchmaker’s first partnership with the Pink Dial project …

Assembled by a Montblanc female watchmaker, the 1858 Geosphere Pink Dial Unique Piece is Montblanc’s contribution to the Pink Dial Project, an Project is a charity auction initiative created by Wei Koh (Founder of Revolution & The Rake magazines) in partnership with –  Time+Tide, Fratello and Eye of Jewelry, a group of proactive watch and jewellery media  who are working directly with watch brands to create unique pieces to collect funds to fight breast cancer.

The 1858 Geosphere is a key line of the Montblanc watches with its two distinctive domed turning hemisphere globes and in-house world-time complication. For this special auction, the Montblanc team has created  a unique piece of the 1858 Geosphere bearing the worldwide known colour of the cause combined with a contrasting deep black aesthetics.

Inspired by the colour pink that symbolizes the fight against breast cancer, Montblanc’s designers have chosen a stunning shiny fuchsia pink-coloured dial that is lacquered with a sunray finishing making the timepiece stand out even more. Coated with SuperLuminovaÒ, the compass indications on the bezel, the Arabic numerals, the indexes and the globes feature blue luminescence, while the hours, minutes, and second time zone appear in luminescent green – providing appealing glowing aesthetics and great readability.

The fuchsia pink-coloured dial is contrasted with a deep black titanium 42 mm case that is achieved using a Diamond-like-Carbon (DLC) treatment whose colour is described as “Black 4”, which stands for “very black”- as black as it gets.

The DLC coating allows the case to be scratch-resistant while the titanium base makes it ultra-light and low thermal conductive. Furthermore, it has been satin-finished and present horns that are polished with bevelled edges, underlining their shape.

This renowned Montblanc complication features two turning domed hemisphere globes which make a full rotation in 24 hours. They are surrounded by a scale with the 24 time zones, along with a day/night indication for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. A second time zone display is located at 9 o’clock and a date aperture (linked to the local time) is located at 3 o’clock.

The 1858 Geosphere is inspired by the world’s Seven Summit mountaineering challenge that are represented together with the Mont Blanc mountain, with dots on the turning globes, while their names are engraved on the caseback. Paying tribute to the Pink Dial Project, the back of the watch unveils a three-dimensional rendering of a pink sunset reflected off of the face of the famous Mont-Blanc Mountain.

This very special wristwatch will be auctioned in October on the Loupe online auction platform with 100 per cent of the proceeds of the auction will be donated to breast cancer charities.
