The Tory Burch Resort 22 collection is a celebration of fantasy, conveying a renewed sense of hope, escape and, quite simply, what we want to wear when we can go out again. Tulle, velvet, satin and Lurex with casual silhouettes remove any pretension or notion that something should only be worn at a certain time or in a certain way.
In the designer Tory Burch’s words, “Glamour and irreverence find voice in silver metallic ribbed knit cardigans and t-shirts; taffeta pants with an elastic waist; optical illusion prints blown up on long-sleeve dresses. A humble workman’s jacket is reimagined in pink velvet bonded to metal foil, creating exaggerated structure and a crushed effect.”
She adds, “Gathers, balloon hems and crinolines add volume. Black and white polkadots punctuate everything from anoraks and guipure dresses to hand-knit cardigans and comfortable ballets. Accessories are bold and accented with leopard, needlepoint, contrast buttons, and we introduce our zip shoulder bag with a slim, ’90s-inspired shape.”
