The Oura Ring is more than just jewellery. This wearable piece of clever tech acts as a health tracker that looks good and keeps you on track with your wellbeing …

The Oura Ring has been on our wishlist for a while now. It made it to the TIME magazine’s 100 best inventions of 2020 list, having played a significant role in Covid-19 studies and was the health device of choice for both NBA and WNBA during play schedule last year.

So, what is Oura Ring? At its most basic, it is a health tracker that is like any other wearable health gadget, except that it looks like a ring and comes in varied designs and finishes to satisfy the fashionista in you.

The USP the ring hinges in its ability to track your health through infrared LED sensors, a NTC body temperature sensor, a 3D accelerometer, and a gyroscope, all cleverly hidden inside its stylish scratch-resistant exterior.

Loaded with functions, the smart ring helps you keep track of your health through three simple scores: Readiness, Sleep, and Activity. According to its website, “While you’re awake, Ōura captures data that reflects your activity and movement and when you’re sleeping, Ōura captures meaningful data as night-time is the best opportunity to get an accurate read on your overall health as your body is in a more consistent state.”

The ring communicates with your smartphone via Bluetooth and its built-in titanium battery has a reserve of up to seven days and is water resistant up to 100m. You also get a USB-C stand to charge the device.

The  smart-looking Ōura, made of lightweight titanium with a moulded plastic inner, weighs only 4 to 6 gms and with a width of 7.9mm and a thickness of 2.55mm. Of course, you will be able to customise your ring according to sizing and fit through the free sizing kit that the company offers.

What makes us lust after this device, you ask? Well, who would not want a gorgeous looking wearable that helps you put a ring on your health?
