While the S-Class is one of the most blissful sedans to drive, it’s the semi-autonomous features that enhance the experience – this includes automatic braking and finding a parking spot and getting into it. The Mercedes-Benz Active Parking Assist feature helps drivers size up parking spaces as you drive by to help you find one that offers enough space for you to maneuver into them easily. It does so by using sensors in your front and rear bumper to determine if a spot can fit your car. Then it expertly steers the car into the space, while you maintain control over its brakes and gear selection. The next level in Intelligent Drive – the folks at Mercedes-Benz are surely determined to rewrite the experience of driving and they are definitely succeeding.
Also worth a mention is the new S-Class’ Road Surface Scan feature. The system detects bumps ahead of the vehicle and adjusts the Active Body Control suspension in accordance. The suspension control is further improved with the stereo camera of the system equipped to scan the road even more thoroughly, even in dusk and at speeds up to 180 km/h.
