CES 2022 as always offered us an exciting array of products that push the envelope and take us a step closer to a fantastical digital future. Our in-house Tech nerds have curated some of their favourite products from the show this year. Here’s Part 1.
AIRSELFIE AIR NEO
This fourth-generation areal camera was one of the CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree. Air Neo is impressive and easy to use, takes off and lands right from your hand, and can be operated without a controller nor any flight experience – meaning your smartphone can stay in your pocket. AutoFly™ modes are the magic behind Air Neo, allowing storytellers to record their world using AI body-tracking and facial detection to perfectly frame your photos and video using 360, Orbit, Zoom, Wide, and Video modes. Images and video are crisp, without the need for additional stabilisation or post-processing.
AMAGAMI HAM HAM
While we are still trying to figure this one out, it makes it to our list for sheer ingenuity. Amagami (which means soft bite in Japanese) Ham Ham is a robot designed to bite the end of your finger to help you relax. Designed by Yukai Engineering, the two Amagami Ham Ham characters are Yuzu the cat and Kotaru the Shiba Inu dog, both based on characters from Liv Heart’s Nemu Nemu series of plush toys. These 8-inch-high plush cutenesses allow you to put your finger in your mouth and they nibble on it. Driven by HAMgorithms, the toys can generate 24 different ways of biting your finger. Modes called Tasting HAM, Holding Tight HAM, and Massaging HAM.

We have smart phones, televisions, plugs, refrigerators, then why not smart doors? Masonite M-Pwr Smart Door is arguably one of our favourite inventions showcased at CES 2022. A fibreglass standard-paned door, the M-Pwr comes with in-built security and features a smart lock (Yale) and a video doorbell (Ring), both of which can be integrated into your smart home environment. There is an LED light bar at the top of the door as well. The hardware is connected through the door to the power and there is a patent-pending backup system in place engineered with 24-hour power capability in case of an outage.
MOEN SMART FAUCET (GESTURE CONTROL)
Moen has upped its smart water technology game with its Smart Faucet that now comes with Gesture Control. It features a newly enhanced hands-free wave sensor offering advanced touchless capabilities. With simple hand motions, users can select hot, cold, or warm water and adjust water flow –without ever touching the faucet, helping reduce the spread of dirt and germs. Part of Moen’s Smart Faucet line, it also features voice activation, and users can set presets for common commands and request exact temperatures and measurements of water. Since it’s a completely touchless experience, there are even styles available without a handle for a high-design, minimalist look.
